Pokémon Go: The Psycho Spectacular brings two new Mon to the game!

Psycho monsters are on the loose in the Pokémon Go event Psycho Spectacular, which begins on September 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM and ends again on September 13, 2021 at 8:00 PM our time. The highlight of this nearly week-long Psycho Spectacular is undoubtedly the release of two pocket monsters that were previously unavailable in Pokémon Go, namely the Unlight and Psycho Pokémon Iscalar and its evolution into Calamanero of the same types. Since Iscalar is the rotational Pokémon, it's likely that you'll need to turn the game device upside down to evolve Calamanero.

Step 2 of Misunderstood Shenanigans

Also of interest besides Iscalar and Calamanero is that the second step of the special research "Misunderstood Mischief" is released for Hoopa. To that end, you'll encounter plenty of Psycho-type Pokémon in the wild, and you can find all sorts of them in the Raids as well. Below is an overview of the features of the Psycho Spectacular 2021, and you can find all the information about "Misunderstood Mischief" in our guide.

Psycho Spectacular in September 2021

  • The event will go from September 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to September 13, 2021 at 8:00 p.m.
  • Iscalar and its evolution Calamanero appear for the first time in Pokémon GO. Iscalar can only be evolved under special conditions. Trainers who have already traveled to the Kalos region in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y certainly won't be spinning their wheels on this one!
  • The next part of the Season of Mischief special research, Misunderstood Mischief, is unlocked. Something has turned the world of Psycho Pokémon upside down - suddenly they're appearing all over the wild! This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about them, right? Maybe we'll even find out something about Hoopa in the process?
  • Psycho Pokémon like Abra, Traumato, Mollimorba, and Monozyto are appearing more frequently in the wild. If you're lucky, you might even encounter Pygraulon or Iscalar!
  • During the event, various Psycho Pokémon will appear in Raid battles.
    • Sterndu (which can evolve into the Water and Psycho Pokémon Starmie), Palimpalim, Bronzel, Psiau, and Iscalar appear in level 1 Raid battles.
    • Alola Raichu, Woingenau, Meditalis, and Metagross appear in level 3 Raid battles.
    • Lugia continues to appear in level 5 Raid battles.
    • Mega Lahmus continues to appear in Mega Raids.
  • You can encounter Pokémon like Fleknoil or Iscalar as rewards for Event Field Research tasks.
  • Take a snapshot once per day - a surprise awaits!
  • You'll receive new Psycho Pokémon stickers when you rotate PokéStops or open gifts. These stickers are also available in the shop.
