Pokémon GO: Niantic teases new Pokémon for Fashion Week

September 2021 has plenty of events in store for trainers in Pokémon GO. One of them is Fashion Week, where fans can apparently look forward to the appearance of a new, previously unreleased Pokémon this year. At least that's what the developers at Niantic teased on Twitter.

Which Pokémon will it be?

In doing so, the team asks, quite mysteriously, on the social media platform, "Which costumed Pokémon will walk the runway during this year's Fashion Week?" The tweet also features a silhouette of a Pokémon, giving fans a clear clue as to which Pokémon it is:

While some fans joke that the image clearly shows a costumed Pikachu, the rest of the community agrees: the poodle Pokémon Coiffwaff will soon be available in Pokémon GO for the first time. We agree: the teaser is definitely Coiffwaff.

Coiffwaff is one of the sixth generation Pokémon. It has the Normal type and cannot evolve. Instead, it changes its form by wearing one of ten different hairstyles. The default form called "Shaggy Cut" is the version also seen in Niantic's teaser image.

Fashion Week itself, and with it Coiffwaff's first appearance in Pokémon GO, will take place from September 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM to September 28, 2021 at 8:00 PM. So far, we don't know very much about the event, other than it appears that during Fashion Week, individual Pokémon will wear custom costumes and players will be able to collect new avatar items.

As soon as we can find out more about Fashion Week in Pokémon GO, we'll update you in a timely manner.
