Pokémon Go: Raid bosses and Mega Pokémon in September 2021

Players, pack up your free Raid Passes, your Battle Passes, and your Remote Raid Passes in September 2021, because it's raiding time in Pokémon Go. The developers at Niantic have previewed the Tier 5 bosses and Mega Pokémon that await you in the September 2021 raids. Primarily, you'll be encountering old acquaintances, but they've been given a twist.

Shiny Regionals and Lugia

As September begins, you can look forward to meeting an old friend, Lugia, who can be caught with the Air Blast attack this time. Later on, you'll see more old friends: the Regionals Vesprit, Selfe, and Tobutz. However, as is the nature of Regionals, the only one you'll encounter in Europe is Vesprit. Still, and should you receive a Raid invite from a friend on another continent, the three Pokémon have a chance to be Shiny in front of your Master Ball after winning a Raid battle. Following is the info on the spawns:

  • Lugia with the attack Air Blast will appear in level 5 Raid battles from September 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM until September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
  • Depending on the region, Selfe (Asia-Pacific), Vesprit (Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India), or Tobutz (Americas and Greenland) will appear in Level 5 Raid battles from September 14 at 10:00 a.m. to October 1 at 10:00 a.m. For the first time, you can also encounter an Iridescent specimen of these Pokémon!

In addition, the following Mega Pokémon will appear in Mega Raids:

  • Mega Lahmus will appear in Mega Raids from September 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM until September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
  • Mega Dogemon will appear in Mega Raids from September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM until October 1, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
