Pokémon Go: Problems, server down, no compensation for lost items?

Pokémon Go was down on November 16, 2021, partly during the Spotlight Hour, which between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. enticed players with increased spawns of Chelast and double the amount of stardust for catching Pokémon. The only thing is: If Pokémon Go is down or affected by a malfunction, then there's just no spotlight hour - in this case, the last 15 minutes were cancelled.

That's annoying for the people who, for example, threw in extra smoke and star pieces for the mini-event in order to maximize their success in the spotlight hour. The reaction of the developers of Pokémon Go is now a bit sobering.

Pokémon Go is down and no one is compensating you

No one knows exactly what caused the outage of the Niantic servers. According to a report in Der Spiegel

, there were not only disruptions in Pokémon Go, but also in Spotify, Ebay, Discord, Snapchat and ultimately the website of Der Spiegel itself. These were fixed by Google's Cloud Services staff quite quickly, but Pokémon Go players are still annoyed.

Shortly after the end of the spotlight hour in Europe, the employees of Niantic tweeted that they apologize for the downtime of Pokémon Go and thanked the fans for their patience.

What about the lost shinys?

But still, the question arises: Meanwhile, what about the spotlight hour started and cut short by the problems? Players are legitimately asking whether they will be refunded invested smoke and star pieces, and in individual cases, Niantic support staff have already responded to corresponding tweets.

However, it is not yet known whether there will be a replacement spotlight hour.

And people who were busy with other gaming things at the time of the Pokémon Go problems, such as catching a Shiny Cresselia, are also likely to go away empty-handed - with luck, they will be reimbursed for a Raid Pass.Support buffed - it will only take a minute. Thank you!
